Indoor Winter Football: Week 1 Printer Friendly Refer a Friend

Cornwall Minor Football’s indoor winter league kicked off year 2 this weekend at the Benson Centre. There was a lot of hype leading up to the week 1 start, and it went above and beyond. Three games took place at the Benson Centre Fieldhouse, while two games were played in Glengarry’s indoor sports complex.

Game 1 at the Benson Centre featured Cornwall Tire vs. 138 Motor & Sales. 138 Motor & Sales defended a last minute charge to win 23-17.  Jett Hagen of 138 Motor & Sales led the way in the air. Hagen threw three passing touchdowns to Ryan Sauier, Evan Luckman and Jacob Hutt.  Defensively, Ryan Saucier had a sack and interception while Braeden Kennan has a sack. Cornwall Tire fell short on their last minute comeback, but had stellar performances from Richard Jacobs andBrennan Seguin each scoring a touchdown. Landon Hickman had a sack and Logan Rush with an interception defensively for Cornwall Tire.

Game 2 at the Benson Centre showcased the talented Bantam level. Longevity pulled off the win against 5th Wheel Truck Stop 56-35. Justin Julien and Ashton Thibeault each scored 3 TD’s for Longevity, while Chris Edwards and Wayna Ellis has one each. Julien added to his offensive performance with one INT. Jakob Loucks has an outstanding performance at QB throwing 5 passing TD’s. Chris Milward was his favorite target with 4 rec TD’s. Travis Gaspe had the other rec TD for 5th Wheel.

Game 3 at the Benson Centre was dominated by LKQ defeating Health Within 44-0. Jake Adams led the way offensively with 3 TD’s. Derek Michaud, Jason Leduc and Courtland Lanthier each scored once.

Game 1 at the Glengarry complex was between Wilson Funeral and Glengarry Gaels. Wilson Funeral jumped out early and never looked back defeating Glengarry 49-14. Tyson Lafave of Wilson Funeral had a breakout performance with 4 TD’s.Ryan Bancroft had 2 TD’s while Tyler Nasr scored once. Anthony Vincelli had a fumble recovery.Sebastien Castro and Alexander Zarifi each scored for the Gaels.

Game 2 at the Glengarry complex was between Freedom 55 and Glengarry Gaels. Freedoms 55 oust the Gaels 56-37. Bailey Malyon had an incredible game scoring 4 TD’s and intercepting the Gaels twice. Justin Cloutier and Cory Sayyeau both scored a pair of TD’s.Ethan Coleman had an INT. For the Gaels, Matt Jones and Lee MacMaster scored 2 TD’s while Micheal Bissonette scored once. Cole Tessier had a sack defensively.
