7-10. (3 games)
End Date: March
10th, 2012. We will be having a one day playoff/championship for
teams.
Levels: Peewee
(’98-’99), Bantam (’95-’97), and Midget (’92-’94)
Teams: There will
be a minimum of four teams per level with a minimum of 6 players and a max of
14.
Season Length: 10
weeks total. 9 Weeks for regular season and 1 week for playoff/championship
Coaches: 1 or
more coach/parent per team.
Officials: 2
officials per game.
Player Selections
There will be a player Combine on Jan 6th. Each
designated coach will be given a full list of players for their level. A draft
will be held with a random selection for team drafting order. We will flip the
order each round i.e. the number one team to pick in round one will pick number
four in round 2 and so on. There will be
no protected players.
Players may be added up to week 3 of the regular
season. If any player wants to join the
league after week 3, the coaches from that level will choose whether or not to
allow the player into the league.
Players will be assigned to a team based on A) Current roster size, or B)
on previous draft order if teams are currently balanced C) Coaches vote what
team to add player too.
Players must play at least half of their regular season
games to be eligible for the playoffs.
Scheduling
The schedule will be randomly generated. Each team will play
each other during the regular season. The schedule will be posted on the Winter
Facebook site as well as our Cornwall Wildcat site. Results of each game and
standings will be posted there as well.
Stats
We will be keeping stats for the winter season to create a
little player excitement. This will include: Touchdowns, Interceptions, Sacks,
and fumble related plays. The officiating crew or designated person will keep
track of this. Stats will be submitted to Derek Thomas after each week.
Regular Season
The regular season will be played on days listed above for a
total of 9 weeks. There will be no bye weeks, as each week, all teams will play,
excluding the Midget teams. Each win
will count as two points, a tie will be one point and a loss/forfeit will
result in zero points. For a player to
qualify for the playoffs, they must have played at least half of the regular
season games. Only extreme circumstances will be taken in consideration if
need be. At the end of the regular season, seeding will be based on points
earned during the course of the regular season.
If a two-way tie exists, it will be decided by who beat whom in
head-to-head competition.
Playoffs
After each team is seeded, the playoff format will be:
Round
1: Game A: 1 vs. 4 and Game B: 2 vs. 3
Championship:
Winner of game A vs. Winner of game B.
Consolation:
Game A loser vs. Game B Loser
There will be an overtime period during playoff and
championship games. This will be explained in the rules section.
